The event commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Chitra Bhurke, the Head of Placement at IES MCRC.
Dr Sequeira welcomed the students and appreciated IES MCRC for the way the Institute makes use of the latest pedagogical tools for the benefit of students, like setting the Bloomberg lab and offering the Harvard Business Publishing Education course to the students.
He urged the students to work hard to learn a lot in the next two years at the institute.
Mr Save expressed his thoughts on " Getting ready for the transition from College to Corporate - Expectations, Rewards & Challenges".
Mr Save emphasized the need for fresh management graduates to work in the marketplace for some time after completion of their education. He also requested them to create an uncomfortable zone for themselves in the next two years of their management education to excel later in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr Save urged the students to strive to occupy the mind space of the customers & not only the shelf space of the retail chemists.
During his address to the students, Dr. Mishra highlighted the rigor and significance of a PGDM program. He emphasized the importance of choosing the right specialization or domain to thrive in the dynamic corporate world.
Dr. Mishra provided a candid reality check, outlining the challenges that lie ahead and offering valuable insights on how to navigate them effectively.
Dr. Mishra shared compelling examples of innovative and out-of-the-box strategies. Drawing from his own experiences as a management consultant, he shed light on the exhilarating yet demanding nature of the profession. Furthermore, he enlightened the students about the emerging career opportunities in the new age industries, encouraging them to explore uncharted territories and embrace change.
Dr Vijay Bhangale, Director, IES MCRC also extended a warm welcome to the vibrant and talented students who have embarked on an incredible journey of learning and personal growth. He congratulated them for being able to get admission after the rigorous process and mentioned that this batch was a fortunate one for a couple of reasons. One was that they would witness the grand celebration of completion of 25 years of IES MCRC in the management education field. Secondly, IES MCRC has tied up with Harvard Business Publishing Education and also with Bloomberg for setting up its terminal in our campus which is an added feather to our cap.
Talking about our motto, “Value Addition Through Education”, he implored the students to make the most of their time spent in the Institute emphasising on our endeavour in holistic development of the students not only as excellent professionals but also good human beings.
