Nurturing innovative mindset among youth of India is the responsibility of every educational organization if India is to get demographic dividend. It is said that if you want the new generation to be different, catch them young. With this spirit, IESMCRC organized an intensive workshop on creativity and innovation for school kids from 10th April to 23rd April 2024 at IES's Orion School.Two IES's schools Orion Dadar and MVM, Bandra participated in the activity. Initially 60 students of 8th and 9th std from both schools were selected from 250, on the basis of a psychometric analysis test developed by Dr. Sukhada for enterprising minds. Dr. Sucheta, Dr. Madhura and Dr Sukhada conducted the workshop in which problem statements were identified and solutions were developed by 12 teams. They also got orientation of AI and robotics during the workshop as well as additional handholding from domain experts too.

Participants did empathy building, competitor's analysis and developed their own ideas and prepared 3-D soft copy model and product sketches as basic prototype. They came out with a wide spectrum of ies like, space debri cutter, electronic supervisor for public toilets, milk adulteration testing kits.

This workshop was organized jointly by IESMCRC and Garje Marathi Global, California. On 23rd April, these projects were evaluated by GMG high profile Jury members - 1) Mr. Vijay Talel, former CEO -Bhau institute,2)  Mr. Hemant Joglekar, start-up mentor, 3) Mr.Prasad Pradhan - Global Senior VP, Citigroup, 4) Mr.Lalit Shinde - CGO, Sequretek, USA. Four teams were selected as winning teams. However majority teams will be given further handholding to make working prototypes.

The workshop was a grand success and once again proven that there is no age bar where innovation is concerned.
