
The Finance Club of IES MCRC, Mumbai successfully organized eight activities during the academic year 2025-2026. Each initiative was thoughtfully curated to bridge the critical gap between classroom theory and real-world financial practice, ensuring our students gained not just conceptual knowledge but also practical competencies demanded by today’s dynamic finance ecosystem.
The year witnessed student participation across all programmes, with activities ranging from Bloomberg Terminal-powered competitions and NISM-focused activities to innovative quiz formats and high-impact industry sessions. The alignment of these activities with current industry trends and regulatory frameworks intends to position IES MCRC Finance Club as a leading force in finance education among premier B-schools in Mumbai. The Club’s commitment to excellence was reflected in the enthusiastic response from both students and industry partners, validating our approach of combining academic rigour with practical application.
The Finance Club operates as an exclusive, student-driven platform dedicated to advancing the professional development of finance specialization students at IES MCRC. Recognizing the importance of structured governance and clear strategic direction, the Club members collaboratively developed a Club Charter that serves as the foundational document guiding all initiatives and decision-making processes. This charter encompasses the Club Logo, the Club Motto, Vision Statement, Mission Statement, and the organizational structure of the Core Student Team.
The Club’s Motto embodies the transformative 3E Philosophy: Emerge, Empower, Excel. This philosophy encapsulates our commitment to helping students emerge as confident finance professionals, empowering them with cutting-edge skills and knowledge, and enabling them to excel in competitive global markets. The Vision Statement articulates our aspiration to develop a community of financially aware, analytically strong, and ethically responsible individuals equipped to navigate the dynamic world of finance. Furthermore, the Club’s Mission Statement clearly defines our operational mandate: to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical financial application by promoting financial literacy, fostering market awareness, and facilitating experiential learning through carefully designed activities and substantive industry exposure opportunities.
The Finance Club’s operational success throughout the academic year 2025-2026 was anchored by a carefully selected Core Team comprising 15 highly from the First Year PGDM programme: Pratham Mekde, Manisha Bhati, Dhaval Damani, Saloni Sharma, Aditi Yadav, Aarchi Mishra, Bipin Shinde, Haribhajan Singh, Sejal Sharma, Preeti Lakhan, Yash Kinalekar, Santosh Yadav, Surashree Valame, Aaditi Dodiya, and Rohit Mandaliya. Each Core Team member brought unique strengths and perspectives to the table, collectively forming a powerhouse of organizational capability, creative thinking, and execution excellence. Their unwavering commitment to the Club’s mission, demonstrated through countless hours of planning, coordination, stakeholder management, and flawless event execution, has been nothing short of exemplary.
The club was overseen by Prof. Mayuresh Adsul as the Faculty In-Charge and operated under the guidance of the faculty members of the Finance Functional Group. The following activities were organized by the club:
Activity 1: Bloomberg Financial Analyst of the Year 1.0 | 2nd August 2025
IES MCRC's Finance Club launched its flagship Bloomberg-powered competition, putting second-year PGDM Finance students through three rounds of Terminal navigation, equity research simulation, and live stock pitches. Mr. Pratham Parab emerged champion among five formidable contenders, impressing a panel of industry judges from KSL and IndusInd Bank. Participants were fêted at Finance Summit 2025 on 7th August 2025, celebrating a landmark first edition of this career-defining event.

Activity 2: World Investor Week @ NISM, Mumbai | 11th October 2025
A hundred and thirteen FY PGDM students visited NISM's Mumbai campus for the globally acclaimed World Investor Week, embarking on a full-day immersion in financial literacy, responsible investing, and fraud awareness. Four students took the stage under the "Make A Pitch" sub-event to showcase trailblazing FinTech startup ideas. The experience seamlessly integrated classroom concepts with the pulse of real-world capital markets and entrepreneurial finance.

Activity 3: Bloomberg “2025 Global Trading Challenge” | 2nd August 2025
Four SY PGDM Finance students — Yash Raut, Upagna Pandya, Lydia Dsouza, and Sylvia Malik — entered the world's only university investment competition conducted entirely on the Bloomberg Terminal, each commanding a virtual USD 1 million portfolio across global securities. Armed with real-time P&L tracking via Bloomberg's TMSG function, they formulated market hypotheses and executed trades, racing to outperform the WLS Index benchmark over five intense weeks. The challenge sharpened their portfolio construction instincts and gave IES MCRC a proud presence on the global stage.

Activity 4: Finance & Economics Virtual Quiz through Quizziz – From GDP to IPO: Test Your Know-How | 27th November 2025
The Finance Club electrified virtual screens with a 30-question sprint through Finance and Economics, hosted on the dynamic Quizziz platform that raised the bar far above ordinary Google Forms quizzes. Eleven sharp minds competed in real-time, collectively achieving a stellar 72% accuracy on demanding conceptual questions spanning macroeconomics to capital markets. Mr. Dhaval Damani claimed the championship crown with a blazing 93% accuracy and the fastest completion time — a true test of knowledge, speed, and nerve.

Activity 5: FinQuiz – NISM Research Analyst Certification | 07th February 2026
The Finance Club hosted a rigorous certification-oriented quiz anchored in NISM's Research Analyst Certification framework, providing students a competitive edge in India's regulated financial services ecosystem. The activity seamlessly bridged PGDM finance coursework with the professional certification landscape, equipping aspirants with the conceptual rigour demanded by SEBI-registered research houses. A focused, high-stakes format that turned exam preparation into an engaging team challenge.

Activity 6: Industry Insights 1.0 – The Wealth Code: Raw Industry Insights | 23rd February 2026
Ms. Zeherra Mecklai, Founder & CEO of Mecklai Wealth's (India), delivered a frank, high-octane session to 35 FY PGDM Finance students on the evolution of India's wealth management industry — from product-driven selling to holistic, client-centric financial planning rooted in trust and transparency. Students gained rare first-hand perspective on asset allocation discipline, risk profiling, and the ethics that underpin a credible advisory career. The session ignited student curiosity and left the room buzzing with ambition to build lasting legacies in finance.

Activity 7: Fingo – Finance Concept Game during Pratyush 2026 | 25th February 2026
Under the vibrant banner of PRATYUSH 2026, the Finance Club transformed a classic bingo grid into an exhilarating financial literacy battlefield where vocabulary truly became the first step to a fat wallet. Twenty-five external students competed across five winning variations — Quick 5, Diagonal, Horizontal, Full Fingo, and Maximum Brownie Points — decoding terms spanning credit scores to retirement accounts. The game-based format proved that the most impactful financial education can happen in the most unexpected, joyful formats.

Activity 8: Industry Insights 2.0: Introduction to Equity Research & Insights | 07th March 2026
IES MCRC alumni Ms. Dnyanada Vaidya, Equity Research Analyst at Axis Securities Ltd., returned to campus to guide 82 FY PGDM Finance students through the real-world craft of sector analysis, company valuation, and professional report writing — skills that distinguish great analysts from average graduates. Her session demystified the path from campus to the research desk, addressing the rigour, curiosity, and communication mastery the industry demands. A packed classroom, electric Q&A, and inspired students were testament to the programme's transformative impact.
