Delayed CET and its Implications

With the delay in the CET exams, there are obvious implications that will follow. What are those? How does it affect you? What can you do to bypass them? All that and more, here.

The Importance of MAH CET in the State

There is no doubt about the sheer importance of MAH CET in the state of Maharashtra. Holding its place as a prestigious exam for state-level MBA colleges, MAH CET is one of the more assuring ways for you to enter into the competitive world of business management and its branches.

While there are over 330+ MBA colleges in Maharashtra, the number of candidates well exceeds the number of seats. What looks like a massive 30,000-40,000 candidate number actually requires a lot more introspection. Think about it, all the aforementioned candidates are in search of the top MBA colleges.

This is precisely where the delay in exams plays a detrimental part. The increase in candidates have been rather tremendous over the course of the last 5 years, and with each iteration, there appears to be an increase in the number.

The COVID Debacle

This increase in number of candidates when mixed with the COVID scenario of yesteryear means only two things. First, COVID interfering with the exams means that there will be exponential delays and massive inconveniences at every step. We’ll tell you how.

Secondly, there will be EVEN more increase in the number of students. After all, students seem to have been taking drop years because of COVID, and are planning on preparing well for the next iteration of the exam. This goes in line with the first point, as with more students, there are obvious server overloading and related issues.

This causes yet another problem. Students while rationalising their college preference might cause some hindrance to your selection too. For instance, if you are seeking admissions in a college that is geographically close and if your ranks are dicey, you might face the brunt of the extra candidates taking the exam. This can be bypassed by better preparations, but entrance exams can be a hit or a miss.

The Constant Need to Rush

The delays and inconveniences have now paved the way for candidates to rush their degrees. Keep in mind that just cracking the exam and getting the degree can’t be enough to call yourself well-equipped for the modern day.

If you are seeking a more grounded experience, and if you want more skills that will help you directly mould the respective industries, a PGDM course makes more sense. MMS or MBA, while being beneficial, does not give you the grass-root exposure that PGDM courses in India give. If you think rushing to crack the entrance is a passport into the corporate world, we suggest you to sit back and assess your present skill sets and grade of preparation.

Haste is Waste

Rushing the degree is also something the respective colleges are wary of. After all, if there is haste, there will be a shorter academic year for the candidates. This will further degrade the quality of the future graduates; thereby making them less equipped for real-world challenges. This is one of the greatest flaws of the delayed CET.

To Conclude

The implication of delayed CETs can prove to be a distressing cause, but that should not set you back. Also it’s always a good idea to choose the known and best colleges offering a PGDM program, rather than waiting longer. Why to settle for less when you have an option to excel by choosing the best!
